Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 5, 2025

1. Who we are

Blogr is operated by Blogr LLC. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. Questions? Email hello@blogr.dev.

2. What we collect

Account information

When you sign in with GitHub, we receive your GitHub username, email address, and profile information. We store this to manage your account and send you service-related emails.

Repository data

To generate blog posts, Blogr scans the repositories you connect. This includes file structure, configuration files, and README content. We do not store your source code; it is read at scan time and discarded after content generation.

Content preferences

We store the settings you configure per repository: site description, target audience, tone, post length, topic hints, keywords, and topics to avoid. This data is used solely to generate content for your repos.

Payment information

Payments are processed by our payment processor. We store a customer ID and subscription status to manage your plan. We never see or store your full card number, expiry, or CVV.

Usage data

We collect basic usage data such as posts generated, repos connected, and feature interactions. This helps us improve the service. We do not sell this data.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide, operate, and improve the Blogr service.
  • To generate and commit blog posts to your connected repositories.
  • To send transactional emails (post notifications, payment receipts, failure alerts).
  • To manage your subscription and billing.
  • To respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Third-party services

We use third-party services for authentication, database storage, payment processing, email delivery, and AI content generation. These services may receive data as necessary to provide their function. Each operates under its own privacy policy governing how it handles that data. We also use PostHog for analytics and session recording to improve the product.

5. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or billing purposes (e.g. payment records).

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. by cancelling your subscription and deleting your account).

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@blogr.dev.

7. California residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at hello@blogr.dev.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted storage of sensitive tokens, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

9. Children

Blogr is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice in the dashboard. The effective date at the top of this page reflects when the current version took effect.
